Sandidge Family Bible The Sandidge Family Bible was inherited by John Jones, grandson of Henrietta Sandidge Golder, who lived one mile out of Greensburg on the Campbellsville Road. We do not know how Captain John Sandidge acquired his familiar title, but we can say that he was generally known by the name "Captain Sandidge" within his community in Green County, KY. The family cemetery is all that remains there today. His four daughters were married at Wilson Hill. The house sat on an elevation overlooking the creek. The plantation on Greasy Creek was named “Wilson Hill”. John Sandidge lost his eyesight sometime after 1826. Early deed books in Green County record numerous transactions by John Sandidge for land and tobacco. Before 1803, John Sandidge purchased about 1,000 acres of land from David Rice in the vicinity of what is now Liletown, on Greasy Creek, Green County.
